大气亚硝酸（HONO）是对流层氢氧自由基（HOx=OH+HO2）的重要来源。白天HONO光解对OH自由基的贡献可高达60%以上，在加速气相化学反应的同时，可导致硝酸盐和二次有机气溶胶（SOA）等爆发性增长从而促进重霾污染发生。但气态亚硝酸来源尚未完全厘清，尤其是其非均相形成过程，探索其来源已成为大气化学领域的难点和热点。
