日本大阪大学教授菊池章率领的研究小组日前宣布,他们发现大肠和肺表面的细胞发生癌变与一种特有的蛋白质相关。动物实验证实,如果不让这种蛋白质发挥作用,肿瘤就会变小。这一发现将有助于开发新的治癌药物。位于消化器官和肺等器官表面的上皮细胞,对于消化吸收、交换氧等发挥着重要作用。但是上皮细胞容易接触来自体外的异物刺激,容易发生癌变。上皮细胞癌占到全部癌的80%至90%。
